Frequently asked

Frequently asked questions

Everything we get asked. If something's missing, email us.

Is Fillsmith a law firm?+

No. We are not a law firm and we don't give legal advice. We help you put your own information onto government forms in your own words. If you need legal advice, we link to free legal aid organizations.

Does Fillsmith give legal advice?+

No. We can't tell you which form to file, whether you qualify, or what to write in legally sensitive fields. We translate the form's questions into your language and we write down your answers as you give them.

What languages do you support?+

At launch: English, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, Tagalog, Vietnamese, French, Haitian Creole, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. More coming. Languages activate as native-speaker QA completes.

Can I review my answers before the form is filled out?+

Yes. Before we generate your finished form, you'll see every answer side-by-side with the original English field, and you can edit anything. Our AI also flags missing required answers and unusual values.

What does expert review include?+

A trained reviewer checks your completed form for missing answers, inconsistencies, and obvious mistakes. They don't give legal advice or decide whether you qualify. That's a job for a lawyer. The review costs $99 and we deliver notes within 3 business days. If our reviewer can't help, we refund you in full.

What documents can you translate?+

Birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, school transcripts, diplomas, vaccination records, police certificates, and similar civil documents. $35 per document, 48-hour turnaround. Each translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy that meets USCIS requirements.

How fast is certified translation?+

Within 48 hours of payment and a clear, legible upload. If we miss the deadline, you get an automatic refund.

Can I use Fillsmith on my phone?+

Yes. Everything works on phones. You can upload a PDF and answer questions on a small screen.
